32 Weeks...Only 4 To Go

32 weeks was our next big milestone.  At this point the twins have a 99% survival rate if born.  We can now breath a little easier knowing that they should enter this world safely.  They are both healthy and average size for their gestation.  They are active and doing well on all tests.  Because of the complete previa, the babies will be delivered at 36 weeks (only 4 weeks away).  In the next few days we will get on the schedule and know exactly which day these babies will arrive.

This weekend a lot of progress was made with their room.  Daddy built the other crib and got many of Ryan's baby things out of the attic.  Mommy even started washing blankets and sheets.

Ryan decided that it was his duty to try out the new crib and make sure it was OK for his brothers.

Revisiting His Youth

Woodbridge - Mommy and Daddy have been getting out many of Ryan's baby things in preperation of the twins coming.  On Sunday Mommy pulled out some baby toys and cleaned them.  Ryan discovered the "new" basket of toys in the twins room and had to go through the whole thing and play with all his old baby toys.

31 Weeks and a Hospital Visit

This past week brought a little bit of excitement, but nothing to worry about.  At Mommy's check up last week, the doctor was a little concerned about some contractions so he sent Mommy to the hospital to see the specialist.  Upon arrival, Mommy was sent to Labor and Delivery to drop off a specimen, but they decided to keep Mommy for observation.  They had the babies on the monitor and checked to make sure Mommy was not dialating.  The good news is that everything was fine and the babies were happy as can be.  Mommy and Daddy spent about three hours in the hospital before being sent home with instructions to take it easy.

On a more positive note, Mammy brought the new crib this weekend.  Daddy has a big project over the Memorial Day weekend.  Hopefully before next weekend is over the room will be finished.

Flower Planting

Woodbridge - Mammy and Bel Bel came for a visit this weekend and helped Mommy and Ryan plant some pretty flowers.  After a trip to Lowe's to pick out some prett flowers, we spend part of the afternoon putting them in pots and decorating under the flag.  Ryan and Bel each selected a flower to put in the ground and then watered all of them so they would grow.

30 Weeks

Another week down and just a few more to go.  If nothing changes, these boys will be here in about 6 weeks.  It is amazing we are so close.  We won't have any more definitive news until next week after the next ultrasound.  Both boys pack a powerful punch, but have been nice enough to keep fairly quiet while Mommy is trying to sleep.  Now only if they would stay off Mommy's bladder so she wouldn't have to get up so much during the night.

In preperation news, we did get Ryan a new car set over the weekend.  We had to get something a little more narrow so three seats would fit in the car.

Mother's Day 2012

Woodbridge - Today was Mother's Day, Daddy and Ryan showered Mommy with gifts and love.  Ryan gave Mommy a nice necklace while Daddy gave her a cover for her new cell phone.  Also Mommy wanted Subway and Daddy happily obliged her!! All in all it was good day!!

29 Weeks

At 29 weeks Mommy is feeling tired.  It is getting harder to be on my feet for a long period of time.  Saturday shopping is challenging, but I am pushing through.  As the babies are getting bigger my diabetes numbers are slowly rising.  Fortunately the doctor checks them weekly and sends feedback on what to do.  The biggest surprise of the week is that Mommy still has not gained any weight.  I have remained the same weight for over four months.

Mommy and Daddy have finally decided on car seats for the babies and Ryan.  We also made another trip to Baby Toys R Us (as Ryan calls it) and bought a bouncy seat.

Here is this week's picture.  Please take note of the fish sticker on Mommy's tummy.  Ryan gets a sticker each day whey he leaves school and "gives it to his brothers".  He likes to stick it on Mommy's tummy for his brothers to enjoy.

The Dentist

Woodbridge - On Saturday Ryan visited the dentist for the very first time.  He was excited to go and did great.  He sat right in the chair and opened his mouth wide to let the dentist count his teeth (he has 20).  He then let the dentist clean and polish.  Mommy and Daddy were very proud.

28 Weeks - Third Trimester

Third trimester...we are now in the home stretch - only 8-10 weeks left.  Mommy is feeling OK, just winded.  One or both of the boys likes to try to stretch and push up into Mommy's lungs and down into Mommy's bladder.  They must think it is funny.

This weekend's project was to clean out the closet in the twin's room.  We put up an organizer and piled in some new clothes and other items we have received.  Also, Daddy finally found a car seat combination that will fit in the PT Cruiser.  We do have to buy three new car seats, but we don't have to get rid of the car.

Here is Mommy at 28 weeks and the newly cleaned closet.
