Ryan At 3

Where has the time gone?  Ryan is now 3 years old!

Ryan has learned a lot over the past year.  He continues to learn more about letters, numbers and colors, but hasn't totally mastered them yet.  His favorite thing that he has learned this year is cutting with scissors.  Santa even brought him his very own scissors this year because he wants to cut all the time.

Ryan loves TV.  He gets to watch a show every night before bed.  His favorite is Handy Manny.  We also watch Berenstein Bears, Chuggington, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Clifford the Big Red Dog and other various programs.  He sings along with shows, sometimes answers questions and often picks the correct Mousecatool.

Ryan appears to be very popular amongst his friends.  Mommy has had several parents say that Ryan is a named often talked about at home.  Judging by the turn out at his party, he must be well liked.

Life is not always roses with Ryan however; afterall he is 3.  He often refuses to do what he is told, especially clean up.  He whines when he doesn't get what he wants.  He also screams, especially in the car.

We are in the process of potty training.  He is fairly good about peeing, but absolutely refuses to poop in the potty.  We have offered him everything under the sun, but he has zero interest.  Maybe we will see that change soon.

Happy birthday to our (big) boy.  It is unbelievable that is has been three years since he was born on a snowy January night.  He continues to amaze us daily and surely will continue to do so.

Ryan's 3rd Birthday Party

Alexandria - Ryan celebrated his birthday with his friends from school at a soft playroom.  The kids played for an hour tumbling, climbing, sliding and jumping in the ball pit.  They had so much fun.  Once they were done, we all went to have snacks and cake.  Ryan got really awesome presents from his friends as well.

After his party, Grammy and Bumpy came back to our house to open presents.  He got even more great stuff from them and Mommy and Daddy.  It was a really fun day.

Birthday at Mammy and PeaPooh's

Gloucester - Unfortunately Mammy and PeaPooh will be unable to come to Ryan's birthday party, so we went to them to celebrate.  Mammy invited some family and got a cool Mickey Mouse cake.  He even got some really neat presents, including his first pair of bubba boots.

Cooking

Woodbridge - We don't do a lot of cooking at our house, but when we do Ryan loves to help mix things.  On Monday we made a pizza casserole.  Ryan helped to cook the noodles and spread it in the pan.  Notice his "chef" hat that he made at school today.

3 Year Pictures

Fairfax - Two weeks before Ryan's birthday we took Ryan to take his 3 year old pictures.  He wasn't exactly receptive to posing for shots, but we got some good ones to commemorate him growing into a big boy.

An Elefun Time

Woodbridge - One of Ryan's Christmas gifts from Grammy and Bumpy was Elefun.  Mommy and Daddy finally bought the right batteries so Ryan could play.  Ryan had fun running after the butterflies.  He didn't catch any in his net, but he giggled picking them up once they hit the floor.

Play-Doh

Woodbridge - One of Ryan's Christmas gifts from Grammy and Bumpy was the Play-Doh Fun Factory.  On our last day of vacation Mommy and Ryan had tons of fun making Play-Doh spaghetti and cutting out shapes.  It will be something fun we all continue to do.
