A Perfect Summer Day

Woodbridge - Saturday was a perfect day for some fun summer activities.

He enjoyed a cherry Slurpee with Daddy.

He had a hamburger cooked on the grill and ate outside.

Finally, he went to the splish splash park to cool off.

Look What Ryan Did at School

Alexandria - Ryan does a lot of fun projects at school each week.  This week they tie-dyed t-shirts in preparation for their luau on Friday.  Ryan actually did the colors.

Shucking Corn

Woodbridge - Mammy and Peapooh brought some fresh corn on the cob to Ryan, Mommy and Daddy this weekend directly from Peapooh's garden.  Ryan helped Mammy shuck and clean the corn (he is such a good helper).  When it was all said and done, Ryan was able to enjoy the fruits of his labor and eat an ear and a half as part of his vegetable dinner.

Also, thanks to Peapooh for the matoes.  Ryan has those for a snack after dinner.

A Day at the Air & Space Museum

Dulles - We headed out for another installment of summer outings on Saturday to visit the Air and Space Museum Annex at Dulles.  They have several really cool airplanes, like the Enola Gay, an SR-71, some commercial airplanes and some foregin war planes.  They also have the Enterprise space shuttle.  After looking at the planes, we took a ride up to the observation tower to watch the planes flying in and out of Dulles Airport.

This is Ryan pretending to be an airplane and flying in his stroller.

Picnic

Woodbridge - Ryan loves to eat outside on the deck.  Up until now we have not had a Ryan sized area for him to eat, so he was sitting in big chairs at a big table.  However, now Ryan has his very own sized picnic table.  He enjoyed his spaghetti outside on saturday night.

Where Dinner is the Show

Gloucester - To wrap up a fun filled weekend, everyone went to dinner at a japanese steak house.  It was Ryan's very first trip.  He and Bel Bel shared the hibachi chicken.  He was amazed by the action and the show.  If every meal came with a show, Mommy and Daddy might be able to eat out more often.

Peapooh's Helper

Gloucester - Ryan and Bel Bel were a big help to Peapooh on Saturday.  We started the morning with the back door not opening, so Ryan helped Peapooh take off the old knob.  We had to go to Peapooh's Lowe's (that is what Ryan called it) to get a new knob.  We went home and Ryan helped him install it.

After nap time, Ryan and Bel Bel helped Peapooh farm and log.  They picked blackberrys, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and checked the peppers (not ready yet). They enjoyed the fruits of their labor and ate the blackberrys after picking them.  Then they removed brush from a tree limb that Peapooh cut up with the chainsaw.  Of course Ryan had to find the largest piece to remove.  For all their hard work, everyone was rewarded with popsicles.

Jump Jump

Gloucester - To continue the fun weekend, Ryan and Bel Bel went to jump jump at Bounce House.  They jumped and slid and ran and had a fun time.

Lunch with Elmo & Busch Gardens (Again)

Woodbridge - On Friday Mommy, Ryan, Mammy and Bel Bel visited Busch Gardnes and had lunch with Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie.  Ryan and Bel Bel danced and hugged and laughed the whole time.  Bert even took them by the hand and led them around the room during the conga line.  We finished up lunch with yummy Cookie and Elmo cupcakes.

After lunch we headed out to ride rides.  It was lots of fun despite rain showers and a little thunder.

Happy 4th of July

A Splish Splash Good Time

Woodbridge - The heat of summer is upon us and to cool off, Ryan enjoyed splish splashing in his water table.  He first thought that he could crawl in it, but eventually just splashed, played boats and threw water on Mommy.
