Getting Stronger and Stronger

Woodbridge - Tummy time is one of Ryan's favorite things to do. It also gives him a lot of frustration. He is always trying to move and roll over. So far he can scoot himself a few inches. One achievment is that Ryan has mastered lifting his head. Those neck muscles are getting stronger and stronger. It won't be long before Ryan is amazing his parents even more.

A New Cousin

Gloucester - On Ryan's travels this weekend, in addition to meeting his great-grandparents, Ryan met his only cousin and aunt. Aunt Nita and Belle were very excited to meet him and spend time with him. Belle was very good about holding Ryan, feeding him and playing with him. She is looking forward to when he gets older so they can play with toys. Belle already says she misses Ryan and wants to visit.

Meet the Great-Grandparents

Gloucester/Mathews - On Saturday Mommy and Ryan made the adventure of a road trip to meet Ryan's great-grandparents and other family. He did really well on the 2 hour road trip and did not give Mommy too much trouble.
First he met Grandma Ruby. Mommy and her sister are the only grandchildren of hers and Ryan is her second great-grandchild. Ryan is the first boy born into the Dunston family since Mommy's father.
Next, Ryan went to meet Pop and Meemaw. There are also very few boys on that side of the family as well. Of the 9 grandchildren, there are only 2 boys. Now there are 8 great-granchildren, where Ryan is the third boy.
Also Ryan went to visit Auntie. Auntie is Ryan's great-great Aunt. She came to see him in the hospital after he was born.

Just Like Daddy

Woodbridge - Ryan has many traits like his Daddy and looks a lot like him. One way Ryan is just like Daddy is that he loves to watch TV. Ryan will turn his head to watch the action on TV if he is not directly facing it. Daddy is always putting soccer, hockey or car racing on to try to get Ryan interested. Just wait until football season when the 49ers are playing.

First Portrait Sitting

Update - Last Wednesday Mommy and Grammy took Ryan for his first potraits. Ryan did really well and Mommy and Daddy think his pictures are great.

Tub Time

Woodbridge - On Monday, Mommy and Daddy gave Ryan his very first tub bath. Ryan was very unsure about it. He would cry than he would think it wasn't so bad. Hopefully he will get used to it and learn to enjoy the warm water and soap. Daddy told Ryan he wished somone would give him a sponge bath everyday.

The Doctor

Woodbridge - On Wednesday, Ryan turned 2 weeks. Early in the morning, he took a trip to the doctor for an official check-up. He is growing by leaps and bounds, currently weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz and measuring 21 inches. The doctor said he looks great and is right on schedule. She was surprised that he is already trying to push himself up with his hands and legs while doing tummy time and loves to roll on his side. The trip really tired him out and he passed out in the bouncy seat once he got home from dropping Daddy off at the Metro station.

A First Trip Out

Springfield/Woodbridge - On Tuesday, Ryan took his first trip out to have his pictures done. Overall he did really well and did not put up too much of a fuss. He is looking forward to sharing the pictures with everyone as soon as they are in.

After having his pictures taken, Ryan did a little shopping and then had lunch at Chick-fil-a. It was an exhausting and exciting day out.
